Research

At the Institute of Russian Philology, research is conducted in the fields of linguistics, literary and interdisciplinary studies.

Linguistic research focuses on such areas as recent trends in the Russian language, lexicography, cultural linguistics, gender linguistics, corpus analysis, multimodal communication, and teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Literary research encompasses issues related to literary history, comparative studies, media analysis, and Polish-Russian cultural relations, with a focus on 19th to 21st-century literature, contemporary Russian theater, and the role of Orthodox traditions in Russian culture.

Research Laboratories

Laboratory of Lexicographic Research

Established in April 2016, the Laboratory of Lexicographic Research engages in theoretical and applied studies in the field of contemporary Polish-Russian and Russian-Polish lexicography. The main goal of the laboratory is to create innovative dictionaries, as well as educational and translation aids. The laboratory closely collaborates with lexicographers, linguists, and specialists from related fields both in Poland and abroad. Members of the laboratory actively participate in promoting lexicographic research through academic projects and outreach activities aimed at increasing awareness and interest in this field of knowledge.

Media Laboratory in Historical and Contemporary Russia

Established in April 2016, the Media Laboratory in Historical and Contemporary Russia specializes in media studies with a focus on historical, literary, and educational contexts. The members of the laboratory emphasize periodicals, ranging from the first Russian newspaper published in 1702 to modern digital media. The main areas of activity include analyzing the image of Polish-Russian relations in the press, exploring the role of newspapers as historical sources, and examining the interaction between literature and media, with a focus on lesser-known phenomena and trends.
