The Institute of Russian Philology conducts linguistic, literary, and interdisciplinary research.

Linguistic studies focus on areas such as recent trends in the Russian language, lexicography, cultural linguistics, gender linguistics, corpus analysis, multimodal communication, and teaching Russian as a foreign language.

Literary research explores topics in literary history, comparative studies, media analysis, and Polish-Russian cultural relations, with a focus on 19th to 21st-century literature, contemporary Russian theater, and the role of Orthodox traditions in Russian culture.

Research Laboratories

Laboratory of Lexicographical Studies

The Laboratory of Lexicographical Studies, established in April 2016, focuses on theoretical and practical research in modern Polish-Russian and Russian-Polish lexicography. Its primary goal is to create innovative dictionaries and educational as well as translation tools. The Laboratory collaborates closely with lexicographers, linguists, and specialists from related fields both in Poland and internationally. Members of the Laboratory are also actively involved in promoting lexicographical research through academic projects and outreach activities to raise awareness and interest in this field.

Laboratory of Media in Historical and Contemporary Russia

The Laboratory of Media in Historical and Contemporary Russia, established in 2016, focuses on media studies from historical, literary, and glottodidactic perspectives. The research encompasses periodicals from the first Russian newspaper published in 1702 to contemporary digital media. Key topics include the portrayal of Polish-Russian relations in the press, the role of newspapers as historical sources, and the interplay between literature and media, highlighting lesser-known phenomena and trends.
